Using Hord
How do I save something to Hord?
In Safari, Photos, Files or another compatible app, open Apple’s Share Sheet and choose Hord. Wait for the save to finish, then carry on. Open Hord to browse and process your saved items.
What if Hord isn’t in the Share Sheet?
Swipe to the end of the app row, tap More, then use Edit to add Hord to your Favourites. Hord appears when the source app supplies compatible content. The exact controls can vary with your version of iOS or iPadOS.
What can I save?
Hord supports captures of public web links, shared or selected text, images, PDFs, video, audio and other file attachments. What arrives in Hord depends on what the source app supplies. Not every file format has a preview or content understanding.
How do I find something later?
Browse the visual library or search with words and clues you remember: a subject, text, source or content type. You don’t need to maintain manual folders or tags. Results depend on the available information and completed processing; search cannot guarantee a match.
How does Hord understand words and images?
Hord uses Apple technologies on your device to extract supported text and visual clues. Enhanced text understanding depends on an eligible device, Apple Intelligence being enabled and the model being ready. Some analysis may remain pending. Semantic search currently uses an English model, so it does not offer equivalent semantic retrieval in every language.
How does iPhone and iPad sync work?
Use the same Apple account with iCloud available on both devices. Hord uses Apple’s private CloudKit database to synchronise supported captures. Open Hord on each device and allow time for processing and sync. Network, account or storage conditions can pause sync; some captures may not qualify. If it remains unavailable, contact support without deleting your library.
Why is a web preview missing, or an original link unavailable?
Hord requests information from eligible public websites to create previews and extract supported content. A site may block the request, change, require access Hord does not have, or be offline. An eligible saved source link can be reopened, but Hord cannot guarantee that an external page remains available.
What happens when I delete an item?
Deleting an item is permanent and removes it from your Hord library. Sync uses deletion markers to prevent deleted content reappearing. Removal across devices depends on sync, and Hord does not promise instantaneous removal from Apple’s infrastructure or backups.
Do I need a Hord account?
No separate Hord account or registration is required. iCloud synchronisation depends on your Apple account.
