MitchellMaker / Hord
Privacy,
in plain words.
Hord is a visual library for content you choose to keep. This policy explains how the current app and this website handle information.
Effective date:
The short version
Supported content understanding happens on your device. Supported sync uses your private iCloud environment. Public-link previews contact the relevant websites. You do not need a separate Hord account.
Information you choose to save
Hord stores content you intentionally share to it, such as supported images, files, text and public URLs. It also keeps relevant information such as the source, filename, content type and when the item was saved. Your saved content may contain personal information, including information already embedded in a file.
Data on your device
Hord keeps app data and derived information locally on your device. This can include previews, extracted text, recognised words and visual clues, descriptive information and search indexes. The app and its Share Sheet extension use shared local storage to preserve the content you choose to save.
On-device processing
Hord uses Apple system technologies for supported text and image analysis and search processing. The inspected production app did not identify a remote AI inference service. Enhanced text understanding depends on device eligibility and Apple Intelligence availability; processing and search capabilities vary with the content and available system models.
iCloud synchronisation
When iCloud is available, Hord uses Apple’s private CloudKit database for supported synchronisation between iPhone and iPad. Synchronised originals and necessary capture metadata may be stored in your private iCloud environment. Much of the derived analysis and search information is rebuilt locally rather than uploaded as part of the current sync format. Synchronisation depends on your Apple account, connectivity and other service conditions. Apple’s handling of its services is governed by Apple’s own privacy practices.
Public links and web previews
When Hord fetches information for a saved public URL, it can request page information, preview images or supported webpage content from the relevant websites and servers. Those destinations can receive normal request information, including your IP address and the requested URL. The custom webpage and image loaders do not use stored cookies or credentials. Some preview behaviour is managed by Apple’s system frameworks. Hord is not designed to provide intentional local or private network browsing. Reopening a source link or sharing content through another service is subject to that destination’s practices.
Device search
Hord can make saved-item titles, content-kind labels and links back into the app available through Apple’s Spotlight system. This helps you reopen an item from device search. The app does not publish your full saved content into Spotlight through this feature.
Advertising, analytics and diagnostics
The inspected production app did not identify advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, behavioural tracking, App Tracking Transparency requests or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. No proprietary content-upload backend was identified. Hord does keep local operational and sync diagnostics and uses Apple’s system logging. These findings do not mean MitchellMaker can never receive personal information—for example, information you send to support is received by MitchellMaker.
Accounts
Hord does not require a separate Hord account or account registration. iCloud synchronisation depends on your Apple account.
Deleting saved content
Deleting an item is permanent and removes it from your Hord library. Synchronisation uses deletion markers to prevent deleted content reappearing. Limited identifiers and deletion state can remain for that purpose. Cross-device removal depends on sync completing. Hord does not promise universal instantaneous removal from Apple’s infrastructure or backups.
Support email
If you email MitchellMaker, we receive the information you choose to include, such as your email address, message and any attachments. We use this information to respond to your enquiry and provide support. Do not send private content unless it is necessary for your request. We do not state a fixed retention period here; contact us if you have a question about your support information.
This website
This website does not intentionally use analytics, advertising, behavioural tracking, marketing cookies, external webfonts or embedded media from other services. It has no contact form. The eventual hosting provider may process technical request and access information needed to deliver and operate the website. No specific hosting-log retention period is stated. Following an external link or emailing support involves the relevant destination or email provider.
Children
Hord is a general-purpose productivity application and is not designed as a social network. If you have a concern about personal information relating to a child, contact MitchellMaker.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when Hord’s features or privacy practices change. The effective date on this page identifies the current version.
